There are some eighteen literary magazines listed on the 42 Miles Press blog. Randomly, extremely randomly, I picked Shampoo Poetry and Action Yes to review and compare. I also experimented with Hyperlinks in this assignment... a shiny new toy to play with.

Shampoo Poetry is quite a contemporary online literary magazine.  It features a wide array of modern, upbeat poetry for anyone who likes poetry. It does take a little browsing to find some poetry that suites your reading pleasure / touches you personally in one small way or another. This online magazine feature hundreds of poets captured within their last 40 issues, including this well known poet.

Action Yes is published quarterly, established in 2000 and co-edited by Carina Finn and Ji yoon Lee, with contributions by Johannes Göransson and Emily Hunt. There is some great poetry within cyberspace here. The magazine lists over 20 contributing poets with links to their submissions, which can be printed if you so desire. They include a huge list of authors and links to their work, presses, blogs etc… One author, Ben Fama, has 3 poems. Two of the three I like. In the one titled, RIP… I think on the island / yesterday a horse died / right there at the party … seems to be written in remembrance of a friend named Claire.
In the “Links” section, I clicked on 5cense and then clicked on “10 images inspired by and for TheRevisionist by Miranda Mellisand was taken to some truly amazing artwork. I believe Action Yes is well rounded and seems to have more to offer than Shampoo Poetry.
